Wear Me_ 2024

A part of my ongoing research explores the power and significance of perfume throughout human history, focusing on its physiological and psychological effects.

Perfume serves as a marker of social distinctions and influences emotional and memory responses more effectively than other senses. The study function as a social experiment, examining the cultural, social, political, and individual perceptions of fragrance. Different scents carry unique connotations, often linked to religion, ceremonies, and socio-political contexts.

Through a series of sensorial performances, I aim to evoke instinctive responses to various scents, taking a journey through centuries of history and culture. This exploration reveals the collective unconscious memories associated with smell, enriching my understanding of the complex histories tied to perfume. Ultimately, this research will inform the construction and agenda of my performances, highlighting the luxurious and multifaceted nature of fragrance in human civilization.
